Gale F. Pridey, 90, Minneapolis, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at his home. He was born June 8, 1924 on a farm near Longford to Frank H. and Rose (George) Pridey.

Gale worked for several farmers as a young adult and then onto other jobs until he settled in southern California where he owned and operated the Reliable Radiator Repair. Gale retired in late 1970 and returned to Kansas in 1981. He and Laurene Smith were united in marriage in 1984. Laurene knew Gale in the 1940's when she was nine years old. She and Gale kept in touch over the years. He adopted Laurene's son, Sam in 1984. Sam became a Tiger in the United States Navy and Gale cruised with him on the USS Callaghan DDG 994 from Hawaii to San Diego and on the USS Camden AOE2 from Long Beach to Bremerton. Gale and Laurene sold G&L Honey in the area for many years.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Rev. Duane, Elwyn, and Vonley Pridey; sister Lorraine Miller; two sisters-in-laws Louise and Esther Pridey; and brother-in-law Howard Miller.

Survivors include his wife Laurene of the home; son Sam Pridey of the home; grandchildren Carli Anne Rudder (Adam) of Kansas City, MO and Louis Pridey (Rosie) of Boring, OR; great-grandchildren Jonathan, Jeremiah, and Caleb; brothers Kent Pridey (Mary) of Estes Park, CO and Frank Pridey, Jr. (Betty) of Topeka; sister Patricia Cleland (David) of Palmdale, CA; and sister-in-law Ruth Pridey of Salina. He also leaves behind a large extended family including Angel Constable and her children Skylar, Ashley, Austin, and Brock and Patti Huiett and her children Reesa and Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held next spring. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Rifle Association, First United Methodist Church, or the family to assist with expenses.
