Gale Dean Garrison was born August 31, 1946, in Concordia, KS to Gale Lorene and Thaddia (Waylon) Garrison. He went home to be with his savior on August 12, 2023, at Presbyterian Manor in Newton, KS.

He grew up and lived most of his life in the Delphos community. He graduated from Delphos High School in 1964. In his first marriage he was blessed with three daughters, Shelly, Stacy, and Marcie. In 1997 he married Carol Slavik and with this marriage he was blessed with two stepdaughters, Michelle and Lisa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Lester Smith; his daughter Stacy Lynn; two sisters Deanna McCullick and Sandra Nordyke; two brothers-in-laws, Ken McCullick and Jesse Nordyke; and a grandson Jonah Martin.

Gale did various jobs during his lifetime, including working for the Coop in Delphos, driving a semi and Chartered busses, work at Eldorado in Minneapolis, Job Inspector for Wilson Company, self employed as a carpenter, maintenance man for Minneapolis Housing Authority, he and Carol managed a couple of motels, until his retirement he was the Maintenance Supervisor for Bella Vista POA in Bella Vista.

He loved to hunt and fish until he just could not do it anymore. He was always active in the Delphos Community, Volunteer Fireman, Lions Club, he also served on the School Board for USD#239. He was an avid sports fan of the Chiefs, Royals, and NASCAR, as well as K-State and KU. He loved playing sports in High School and those were some of his most precious memories. He loved following his daughters as they played and coaching their softball teams, later the grandkids as much as he could. He was so proud of each one. Another thing he dearly loved was coming back to Kansas to help with the harvest. After retirement he and Carol loved to travel in their camper, especially to the mountains.

He is survived by his wife Carol; daughters, Shelly (Tad) Geiman, Marcie (Mike) McGavran; stepdaughters, Michelle (Bob) Martin and Lisa (Rick) Wagner; grandchildren, Kylie (Justin) Hershey, Kacie (Tanner) Smith, Jayce and Kamryn Geiman, Madison, Mason, and Micah McGavran, Grace and Noah Martin, Lily and Rex Wagner; brother-in-law Jim (Rhonda) Zenger; and cousin, Ed Garrison.  He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, August 20, at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 21 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Delphos Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Newton Presbyterian Manor and be left in care of the funeral home.
