Obituary

Frank C. McCready, 90, Bennington, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016. He was born September 6, 1925 in Vine Creek to John and Rosalind (Bergsten) McCready.

Frank graduated from Delphos High School and he was a lifelong resident of Ottawa County. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Alda Jean Cooper and Frank were united in marriage on June 14, 1948. Throughout his working years he worked for McGinnis Repair, raised Guernsey dairy cows for 40 years, and he owned the Bennington Locker Plant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alda Jean in 2009; son Myron; and brothers Lyle and Max.

Survivors are his children Mark and Ted McCready and Beth Morrison; daughter-in-law Judy McCready; sister Pauline Smith; grandchildren Becky (Tim) Myers, Stuart (Priscilla Smith) Ross, David (Jill Becker) Ross, Amy (Adam) Stover, Erin McCready, Jody (Paul) Cope, and Kyle McCready; and great-grandchildren Quinci Ross, Abby Myers, Ryan Myers, Addison Stover, Emma Stover, Chloe Whitaker, and Lexie McCready. The family would also like to give a special thank you to Frank's "family" at the Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday at the United Church of Bennington. Burial will be in Bennington Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 P.M. Friday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 6-8. Memorials are to the church or Bennington Fire Department.
