Frances E. Frain, 84, Minneapolis, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Salina Regional Health Center.  She was born October 23, 1938, in Beloit, to Francis "Stub" and Alcena (Wheeler) Van Meter.

Fran was a graduate of Ada High School and she and Richard "Dick" Frain were married on March 9, 1957.  She worked as a candy striper, bookkeeper for the family implement business, bus driver, and was the Assistant City Clerk in Minneapolis for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick; and sisters Norlene Parrish and her husband, Jack; and Nancy Lott.

Survivors are her children, Sheldon Frain and his wife, Denise and Barbara Lafata and her husband, Frank; and brother-in-law, Tom Lott.

Memorial services will at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 19, at Antioch Baptist Church, Ada.  Private burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials may be made to the Ada Community Building and be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
