Frances M. "Chub" Alderson, 88, Delphos, KS, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. Chub was born February 19, 1923 on the family farm in Cloud County, KS to Louis and Mimie (Guipre) Pounds.
Chub was united in marriage with Marvin P. "Bub" Alderson on September 26, 1940 in Belleville, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2003. She worked at McKain Grain, Honorbuilt, and several grocery stores. Chub was a member of the Delphos United Methodist Church.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her son Arnold Alderson on August 20, 2009; and her siblings Lennis Pounds, Berniece Nelson, and Delma Huffman.
Survivors include her son Marvin L. Alderson and his wife Virginia of Delphos; her daughter-in-law Dixie Alderson also of Delphos; her brother Darrell Pounds of Delphos; her sisters Tresa Steinbrock and Dorothy Ponton both of Delphos, and Sylvia Shaffer of Salina; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday at the Delphos Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis where the family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Delphos United Methodist Church or the Nicol Home, Glasco.
