Ernst H. Bolte, 86, Culver, Kansas, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at his home. He was born October 31, 1923 in Lincoln County, Kansas to Fred and Clara (Detmer) Bolte.
Ernst and Betty Humbargar were united in marriage on July 17, 1949 in Salina, Kansas. He was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Culver United Methodist Chuch where he served as a trustee and board member. He was active in the American Ag Movement and was a former board member for the Ottawa County Fair Association.
Ernst was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Herbert.
Survivors include his wife Betty of the home; son Steve Bolte and his wife Jill of Kechi ; daughter Glenice Cox and her husband Mike of Raymore, MO; sister Louise Haworth of Salina; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery, Culver. Visitation will be 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. Memorials contributions may be made to the church or Hospice of Salina and may be left in care of the funeral home.
