Obituary

Elmer George Laughlin was born June 20, 1916 in Alexander, Kansas to George Raymond and Nellie (Burkey) Laughlin. He passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis, Kansas.
He was a 1934 graduate of Lacrosse High School and he worked as a Postal Clerk before being drafted into the United States Army in 1943. Elmer served in New Guinea and was honorably discharged in 1946. He then moved to Hoisington, Kansas where he delivered mail for 34 years, retiring in 1973. Soon after retirement, Elmer drove a school bus for many years. On February 8, 1967, he was united in marriage with Mary Bea Griffin in Hoisington. They made their home in Minneapolis in 1991.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Mary Bea Laughlin of the home; daughter, Willa Mitchell of Independence, MO; step-daughter, Leanna Crist of Minneapolis; brother, William Laughlin of Great Bend; twin sister, Elma Lepi of Great Bend; sister, Elizabeth Wilson of Illinois; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.; step-grandchildren, Leslie and Darwin Belvill of Minneapolis and Lisa Crist of Olmitz; and her step-great-grandchildren, Allie, Drew, and Brette Belvill all of Minneapolis.
