Elaine Alyce Stewart, 90, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on January 18, 2024, in Scottsdale at the Thompson Peak Campus of HonorHealth after a brief illness.

Elaine was born on October 31, 1933, in Minneapolis, KS to Albert and Melba Miller. On July 9, 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert ("Bob") Lyman Stewart, who passed in 2010.

Besides Bob, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Somers, Keith Miller, Myrt Wallace, and LeRoy Miller.

Elaine is survived by her three children: Deborah Mullens (Rockne) of Scottsdale, AZ; Gregory Stewart (Lu Ann) of Scottsdale, AZ; and Jennifer Muller (Rick) of Springfield, MO. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren (Jason, Colton, Tanner; Kimberley, Stephanie, Preston, Sierra, Madeleine; Walton, and Bailey); as well as 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Elaine was the heart and soul of the family. She was a wonderful cook and a skilled seamstress, and she had a gift for decorating the house and creating a home. She was talented, organized, and she kept things running smoothly. Her favorite store was Home Depot, and her husband would joke that he didn't even know where the toolbox was: Elaine was the "fixer."

She was also athletic and adventurous. She and Bob enjoyed traveling in the states and abroad, and they were rarely without their golf clubs. Elaine blossomed wherever she was planted, and she deeply cherished her friendships at church, on the golf course, and in her neighborhood. And there was always an open chair for anyone at the Minneapolis donut shop with the "ladies of the roundtable." Her life was filled with love, laughter, and friendships that would last a lifetime.

Elaine and Bob began their life together in Kansas, and later in life they moved to Arizona. However, Elaine was always drawn to the serenity of the Colorado mountains.

And so, in memory of Elaine, the family has decided to have a private celebration of life in Vail. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis, KS.
