Dorothy E. Williams, 83, Salina, died Monday, February 15, 2016 at Holiday Resort, Salina. She was born May 26, 1932 in Nekoma, KS to Joseph Emerie and Irene Inez (Harris) Williams.
The family moved to Minneapolis when Dorothy was a young child. She attended Pleasant Hill Elementary School and Minneapolis High School where she was a 1950 graduate. Dorothy attended Hutchinson Junior College and then the University of Kansas where she graduated in 1955 with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She worked at various hospitals including Asbury in Salina, Women's Hospital in Utah, Passavant in Chicago, the University of Kansas Medical Center, Bates County Hospital in Missouri, and Newman Hospital in Emporia. Dorothy retired in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Marva Jolene Adee and her husband Evan; and brother-in-law Willard Moeder.
Survivors include her sisters Lenna Hope Moeder of Salina and Karen Lucille Iselin and her husband Bill of Tempe, AZ; longtime friend Arinetta Bolton of Salina; and seven nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 20 at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the service time Saturday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials may be made to Brookdale Hospice or the Emmanuel Foursquare Church.
