Dorothy F. Smith, 81, Bennington, Kansas, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.
Dorothy was born September 27, 1928 in Ellsworth, Kansas to Will and Winifred (Martin) Suberly. She attended grade school in Carnero and she was a 1948 graduate of Ellsworth High School. She attended beauty school in Salina graduating in 1952. On August 16, 1952 Dorothy was united in marriage with Floyd Smith in Salina. She worked as a beautician for many years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roy Suberly.
Survivors include her husband Floyd of the home; her children Annette Scott and her husband Jim of Bennington, Janette Hildreth and her husband Blain of Wichita; and William "Bill" Smith and his wife Darcy of Bennington; six grandchildren Justin Scott, Andrew Hildreth, Anthony Hildreth, Kallie Smith, Skylar Smith, and Korey Klingenberg; and three great-grandchildren Kya, Ayla, and Logan Klingenberg.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday at the Bennington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
