Doris O. Hay, 79, Beloit, Kansas, died Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit. Doris was born April 28, 1931 in Smith County, Kansas to Gilbert and Millie B. (Conrad) Tompkins.
She was united in marriage with Clarence Hay on March 5, 1966 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Doris enjoyed puzzles, sewing, quilting, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her sons Richard Hay and Russell Noon; her son-in-law Daryl Barnes; her brothers Ronald, Paul, and Arden Tompkins; her sister Lois Lamont; and two grandsons.
Survivors include her children Ruth Ann Patterson and her husband Jimmy Joe of Hays, Wilma Lea Barnes of Des Moines, IA, Wilbur Noon and his wife Sharon of Minneapolis, Doris Noon of Helena, MT, and Kenneth Hay and his wife Rhonda of Beloit; her brothers Dale Tompkins of Kentucky and Ray Tompkins of Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 A.M., Monday at Oakland Union Cemetery near Miltonvale. The family will receive friends at home of Wilbur and Sharon Noon (1340 Laramie Road, Minneapolis) from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. Sunday. The casket will be open at the cemetery an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hilltop Lodge, Beloit.
