Obituary

Donald Dean Stover, 78, Minneapolis, passed away Sun. , Oct. 12, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society-Minneapolis. He was born January 3, 1930 at Lincoln, Kansas, the son of Lyle and Marie (Kissick) Stover. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was married to Jacqueline Farrar in 1952 at South Portland, Maine. She preceded him in death March 9, 1972.
Donald was a welder and operated welding shops in Tescott and Lincoln. He also worked in elevator construction through his own business and for Frisbee Construction Company.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include 2 sons, Michael David Stover and wife Cindy of Maple Hill, Kansas and Garry Lee Stover and wife Mary of Minneapolis; a daughter Deborah Lynn and her husband Lyle Turner of Salina; a brother Harvey Lee Stover of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren, Deborah Lee Bruner, Shaun Toland, Joshua Turner, Leah Womelsdorf, Emily Watkins, Eva Henderson and Adam, Michael, Garrett, Nathan and Trevor Stover; 5 step-grandchildren, Angel Haney, Mary Lynn Aikens, Lance Turner, Shawna Kronmiller and Billie Glavin; 9 great-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a grandchild and a step-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be at 10 A.M. Wednesday Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis, the Rev. Helen Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery with military honors. Memorials are to the Good Samaritan Society -Minneapolis or the donor's choice. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present from 7 to 8 P.M.
