Donald Reed "Donny" Griest, 58, Minneapolis, passed away in his wife's arms and walked into his mother's arms in heaven on Monday, August 18, 2014. Donny was born June 20, 1956 in Salina to Reed and Jolene (Davidson) Griest.

He was a man of many talents. Donny was a welder, farmer, carpenter, and a detailed inspector. He had a love for dogs and he was a faithful man. His underlying patience and positive attitude were well known by all.

He was preceded in death by his mother Jolene Griest and twin grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Roberta (Loe) Griest; father and step-mother Reed and Marilyn Griest; children Adam Griest and wife Jill and Koryn Murry and husband Aaron; step-children Chance Ptacek and wife Pesha, Adam Ptacek and wife Margaret, Heidi Sprague and husband Drew, and April Ptacek and fiancé Winston; sisters Tammy Shaw and husband Rick; Stacy Prater and husband Bob; and DeeDee Becker and husband Wolfe; grandchildren Matt, Ayden, Ashlynn, and Bennett; step-grandchildren Brielle, Tiernan, Kolten, Landry, Aiclyn, and Emma; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 25 at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in the Glasco Cemetery, Glasco. Visitation will be from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Friends of Markley Grove Park or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
