Obituary

Donald Dean Baker, 83, of Minneapolis, passed away Thursday., July 29, 2010 at his home in Minneapolis.
He was born July 15, 1927 at Salina, the son of Theodore and May Van Ness Baker. He served in both the United States Army and Coast Guard. He was an equipment operator for the Ottawa County Highway Department until his retirement. He was a member of the Baptist Church, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
His wife, Freddia M. Baker, died Apr. 1, 2009. Also preceded by a son Timothy Baker.
Survivors include 2 sons: Theodore Baker of Boston, Mass., and Harry Stillings of Lancaster, Tex.; 3 daughters: Debra Baker of Boston, Mass., Doni Baker of Topeka, Kan. And Alyssa Baker of Salina; a son-in-law Jim Lewis of Salina, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 3 grea-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 2 to 8 P M. Sun. at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis, with family present from 7 to8 P.M.
Funeral service, 11 A. M. Mon. at the funeral home. Burial in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott, with military honors by U. S. Coast Guard. Memorials to Minneapolis City Park.
