Dean L. Smith, 73, Salina, Kansas, passed away September 18, 2009 in Salina. Dean was born January 30, 1936 in Delphos, Kansas to Lloyd L. and Lila (Mauk) Smith.
Dean's life revolved around his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be missed by all of those whose lives he touched.
Dean was preceded in death by his children, Clinton Smith and Harvey Hamilton, Jr.; siblings Mary Bailey, Marvin B. Smith, and infant triplets siblings Marlene, Muriel, and Larry D. Smith.
Dean is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home; his children Marty (Carrie) Smith, Tyler (Jodi) Smith, Larry Dean (Corliss) Smith, Jim (Dixie) Hamilton, and Tonya (Dieter) Tyler; brothers Paul and Kenneth Smith; sisters Iva Kibler, Colene Huiett, and Judy Michaels; his former wife Delilah Smith; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis the v. Lewis Kibler officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery, rural Salina. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OCCK and may be left in care of the funeral home.
