David Milton Goosman, 68, Bennington, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 16, 2016 while traveling home from the Houston and Galveston, TX area. He was born July 18, 1947 in David City, NE to Milton and Noma (Marquis) Goosman.
He served in the United States Navy for four years. Two of those years were in Vietnam and a post on the USS Lexington. Dave was united in marriage with Leanna (Becker) Blake on February 7, 1981 at the Community Bible Church in Minneapolis. He considered the Bennington Bible Church to be his church home. Dave retired from the United States Postal Service in 2005.
Dave enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and numerous pets through the years. He also enjoyed farming and traveling. He and Leanna's highlight was their trip to Alaska which covered 14,000 miles.
Survivors include his loving wife Leanna of the home; step-sons Brady Blake and his wife Jennifer and their children Jaxon, Bradyn, Corbin, and Jordan all of Abilene and Barry Blake and his wife Tara and their children Cailyn, Carlyn, Grayson, and Granger all of Minneapolis; siblings Robert Goosman, Mary James, Katherine Young, John Goosman, and Thomas Deepe; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog Daisy Mae.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, at the Bennington Bible Church. Burial will be in the Bennington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Bennington Bible Church and will be used for the Kamp Out program.
