Darlene Thomas, 85, Minneapolis, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.  She was born Alice Darlene Adams on May 25, 1937, in Beloit, to Hubert M. and Evelyn (Bussart) Adams.

Darlene was a 1955 graduate of Minneapolis High School and graduated on her 18 ^th birthday.  On January 15, 1955, she was united in marriage with Duane E. Thomas in Minneapolis.  They lived on the farm all of their married life, except for three months when they lived in Minneapolis.

Darlene loved music and she loved to dance.  She was known for her cooking – mainly her family dinners and harvest meals.  She worked various caregiving jobs in her life, and she was a faithful farmwife to Duane.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny; one granddaughter; sister, Dorothy Gay; and brother-in-law, Larry Newman.

Survivors are her husband of 67 years, Duane; daughter, Debra Darlene Porter; son, Reuben Duane Thomas and his wife, Amy; daughter-in-law, Alyce Thomas; sisters, June Sechrist and her husband, Gary, and Donna Newman; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation without the family present will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 6 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 7, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lamar.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery and left in care of the funeral home.
