Darlene R. Hoesli, 80, Minneapolis, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, August 31, 2015. She was born September 4, 1934 in Simpson to August V. and Rosa E. (Beck) Krizek.

Darlene attended school in Simpson and she was a 1952 graduate of Simpson High School. On September 23, 1952, she and Max Hoesli were united in marriage at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They lived in Ft. Sill, OK for two years and then returned to Minneapolis before moving to the family farm where they lived until 2012. Darlene devoted her life to serving and loving her family. One of her greatest delights was playing games with their grandchildren and she and Max were avid followers of their activities.

Darlene and Max hosted the Lean To Christian Center in their home for many years. She was the pianist and worship leader. She was devoted to her Christian values and she was always seeing others through the eyes of Christ. It was her passion to study His Word and praise Him through music. Darlene encouraged others through their struggles and rejoiced with them in their victories.

Darlene was a member of the Town & Country Club, Ottawa County Music Club, Ottawa County Election Board, Country Neighbors Band, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was also a Woodsdale 4H leader.
She was preceded in death by her sister June McDonald and grandson Samuel Hoesli.

Survivors include her husband Max; children Steve (Deb) Hoesli, Mark (Julie Heberly) Hoesli, Thom Hoesli, and Vicki (Harold) Walker; brother-in-law Clarence McDonald; grandchildren Abby (Kevin) Burgell, Ashly Hoesli, Jeremiah (Leah Lawrence) Hoesli, Jonas (Maggie Brooks) Hoesli, Sheldon (Jenny) Hoesli, Isiah Hoesli, Megan Perusek, Cameron Walker, and Courtney Walker; great-grandchildren Shyann Somers, Harper Burgell, Bella Hoesli, Logan Barnhart, Jackson Brooks, Carter Hoesli, Max Hoesli, Crocker Hoesli, Eli Hoesli, Jada Harding, and Joseph Perusek.

A celebration of Darlene's life will begin at 10:00 A.M., Monday, at the Bennington Bible Church, Bennington and there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ottawa County Music Club or the Ottawa County Fair Association.
