Dale C. Reed, 84, Culver, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. He was born December 26, 1927 on a farm north of Culver to Paul and Vera (Kepple) Reed.

He attended Culver Grade School and he was a 1946 graduate of Culver High School. On December 7, 1947 Dale married Norma Nelson. They lived in Salina where Dale was employed by Gamble Skogmo. In October of 1948 he transferred to Marshalltown, IA. In March of 1949 he quit that job and returned to Salina where he began working for KPL. He had various jobs with KPL and lived in Pratt and Manhattan before returning to Salina where he retired in April of 1988. He continued farming the land where he grew up.

Dale was a member of the Westar Retiree Club and the Culver United Methodist Church where he was treasurer for 19 years. He was currently serving as a trustee.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Jean.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Norma of the home; his daughter Carol Mudloff of Culver; his son Steve Reed and his wife Anita of Liberal; his grandsons, Scott Mudloff and his wife Rachel of Loveland, CO, Brian Mudloff and his wife Alicya of Northglenn, CO, Darren Reed of North Kansas City, MO, and Kendal Reed of Boston, MA; his great-granddaughter Avery Mudloff of Northglenn, CO; and his brother Carl Reed and his wife Betty of Elmhurst, IL.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday at the Culver United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Culver Union Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ottawa County Health Center which will be used for nursing scholarships and may be left in care of the funeral home.
