Obituary

Coy Lewis, 79, Minneapolis, went to be with Jesus and to be reunited with his wife, Linda, on Sunday, December 14, 2014. He was born in Bergoo, West Virginia on June 29, 1935 to Charles G. and Rebecca (Brown) Lewis.

He and Linda Solts were united in marriage on November 29, 1956. Coy joined the United States Army and later enlisted with the United States Air Force from which he retired as a TSgt. He was well known in the area as a musician. He participated in jams in McPherson, Salina, and Barnard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Linda; daughter Cheryl Trent; and siblings Clemma Belle, Clara Myrtle, Carlie Irene, Calvin Charles, Cleo Jane, Carl Andrew, Cora Catherine, Clora Esther, Carlton Denver, and Carrie Eugene.

Survivors include his son Christopher Lewis; daughter Carrie Berndt and her husband Greg; and two grandchildren Taylor Kline and Colleen Lewis.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 18 at the Community Bible Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in the Rose Meron Cemetery, Longford. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Ottawa County Music Club or the Kansas Bluegrass Association to be used for the youth.
