Obituary

Clyde F. Christenson, 88, of Tescott, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. He was born December 8, 1921 on a farm north of Tescott to Carl N. and Ruth (Lane) Christenson.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. Clyde married Alma L. Wilson January 4, 1948 at Tescott. He worked at the Tescott Cheese Company and later for the U.S. Postal Service as Tescott postmaster.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lifetime and continous 64 year member of American Legion Post No. 255, and the Lions Club, all of Tescott; Veterans of Foreign Wars post at Glasco, the Forty and Eight and the Sunflower Polka Club, and was a Farm Bureau Century Farm Award winner.
Survivors include his wife Alma; a son Chris and wife Sheryl of Greensburg; daughters Cathy and husband Dan Reavis of Humble, Tex., Connie and husband David Worley of ElDorado and Carma and husband Dave Pauley of Topeka; a sister Eleanor and husband Hal Berkley of Tescott and grandchildren Amy and Matt Christenson; Sarah Sokolowski and husband Chris; Andrew Worley and wife Tara; Amanda Worley; Lisa Reavis, Erin and Kyle Pauley and a great-grandson Julian Sokolowski.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 P.M. Wed. at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis. The funeral will be 10 A.M. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tescott, with burial in Franklin Cemetery with military honors. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the church or the Transitional Crossroads Unit at the Ottawa County Health Center.
