Clifford W. Chancy, 94, Delphos, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society - Minneapolis.
Clifford, the son of Francis and Cora (Davis) Chancy was born February 20, 1914 near Delphos, Kansas. He was united in marriage with Mildred Crum on September 21, 1938 in Concordia. He was a farmer and stockman for many years. Clifford was a member of the Delphos United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Delphos Lions Club. He also served on the Ottawa County Soil Conservation Board.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mildred Chancy of Minneapolis; his sons, Terry Chancy and his wife Jan of Delphos and Gary Chancy and his wife Mari of Grand Junction, Colorado; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Clifford's life will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Delphos United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Geisler officiating. Private family graveside services will be held at the Delphos Cemetery. The body was cremated and there will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis and may be left in care of the funeral home.
