Carrie Sue Thompson, age 49, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at her home near Minneapolis, Kansas.

Carrie was born on October 21, 1973 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Kendall Dean Hursey and Sherrie Sueanne (Vaughn) Hursey.

In Carrie's youth, she loved the time spent on her grandparent's farm in southern Iowa.  There were many memories of her holding and playing with the farm animals (especially the farm babies). She was always surrounded by her pets and for several years, she raised and sold puppies.

She was a country girl, loved country music, riding horses with her friends, attending rodeos, and decorating her home with country related memories.  As a hobby, she gathered a lifetime collection of crosses, mostly with a country theme.  Her Christmas tree was loaded each year with her favorite crosses.

Left to remember Carrie's memory are her father, Kendall (Diane) Hursey; her siblings; sister Christine (Rodney) Honn; brother James (Samantha) Hursey; her three daughters, Heather, Haley, and Hanna; two granddaughters; many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.

Carrie was preceded in death by her mother, Sherrie Hursey, in 2013.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 24 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, Kansas. A private family burial service will be held at a later date.
