Bonnie L. Bigler's Obituary
Bonnie Lee Bigler, 80, Minneapolis, formerly of Clay Center, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.
She was born April 14, 1931 in Riley to John A. and Helen (Todd) Frigon. Bonnie attended school in Dickinson County and she was a 1949 graduate of Clifton High School. On July 24, 1949 she was united in marriage with Calvin A. Bigler in Clay Center. To this union three children were born, Mary Evelyn, Sondra Lorene, and Calvin Armond Jr.
Bonnie sold Avon for many years and she was a cashier at Short Stop where Calvin operated his service garage. In 1984 they opened and operated Bigler's Downtown 66 service station at the corner of Fourth and Court in Clay Center and they closed their business in 2007. They lived in Clay Center until moving to Minneapolis in 2009 to be close to family.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her son Calvin Jr., her daughter Mary Wilson; an infant brother; and her son-in-law Gary Sanborn.
She is survived by her husband Calvin; her daughter Sondra Sanborn and her companion Victor Schwarz of Rexford; her son-in-law Allen Wilson of Minneapolis; her grandchildren Jeremy Sanborn and his wife Jana of Ennis, MT, Todd Wilson and his wife Shelly of Minneapolis, Jonathan Ruthstrom and his wife Jessica of Mankato, and Ryan Wilson of Emporia; and her great-grandchildren, Caleb and Madison France, Zayne Sanborn, Landon and Reece Wilson; and Trinity Ruthstrom.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center with Pastor Michele McHenry officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center. The family will receive friends from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M. Friday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis and from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home in Clay Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay Center Zoo or the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. Arrangements are being handled and conducted by Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis.
