Obituary

Blaine E. Cleveland, 71, of Salina, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at Salina Regional Health Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1946, in Junction City, to Shelby and Ruth (Breen) Cleveland.

Blaine was a 1964 graduate of Bennington High School. He married Beverly Cleveland, July 4, 1983. Blaine worked as a conductor for Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 2008. He also served as Assistant State Legislative Representative for the United Transportation Union for many years. Following his retirement from the railroad, Blaine became a Sam's Club door greeter in 2009 and was still actively working in this position he loved.

Survivors include: his wife, Beverly; sons, Denny (Ruby), Donnie (Jennifer), Joey (Chasta), Dustin, and Josh Cleveland; grandchildren, Brian, Elijah, Seth, Annabella, Jason, Cameron, Gannon, Gavon, and Aaron Cleveland, and Amy Trostle (Chris); great-grandchild Jaydrah; brothers, Phil (Arlene), and Steve (Cynde); and father-in-law, Larry Knox.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; mother-in-law, Ethel Knox; and sister-in-law, Nancy Cleveland.

It was Blaine's wish to be cremated. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, with the family receiving friends.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Bennington Bible Church, Bennington.
