Betty L. Bacon, 89, Ada, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013. She was born January 15, 1924 to Lloyd and Mabel (Langerman) Austin.

Betty grew up in Culver and was a graduate of Culver High School. She was united in marriage with Keith Bacon on July 1, 1945 in Salina. They moved to Ada in 1946 and that is where they raised their family. Betty was a devoted wife and mother. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Ottawa County Health Center from 1981 – 1999. She was known for the excellent care that she provided the patients. Betty was a member of the Ada United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women; and the Jolly Neighbors Club.

She was preceded in death by her son Linn; and her sisters Evelyn Batcheller and Arlene Hannebaum.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Keith; her children Redonda Baugh (Scott), Linn's longtime companion Janet Gowin, Gary Bacon (Rhonda), Royce Bacon (Jean Smith), Max Bacon (Kim), Arlen Bacon, and Jerry Bacon (Joyce); 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 15 at the First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Ada. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Cemetery Directory or the Transitional Crossroads Unit at the Ottawa County Health Center.
