Bennie D. Bergman, 77, Minneapolis, Kansas, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.
Bennie was born May 17, 1932 in Beverly, Kansas to Emil M. and Ruby (Kidwell) Bergman. Shortly after graduating from high school, he entered the United States Air Force where he served for four years. Bennie was united in marriage with Annabel Jagger on December 21, 1958 in Minneapolis. She preceded him in death on April 6, 1985. He was a laborer at Premiere Pneumatics in Salina for many years. Bennie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina.
Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Kay Hill.
Survivors include his brothers, Haerle and Harold Bergman both of Minneapolis; his sister, Darlene Smithart of Newton; four special nieces and nephews, Joleen Blake, Joyce Smith, Jill Shatto, and Bob Bergman all of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M., Friday at Wilson Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Minneapolis Public Library.
