Averill L. "Bud" Dewey, 73, Bennington, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Ottawa County Health Center. Bud was born November 28, 1944 in Ottawa County to Clarence "Bill" and Stella (Sheeley) Dewey.

Bud attended Minneapolis High School and worked as a welder for Union Pacific Railroad for 28 years. He and Donna Wohler were married on November 21, 1979 in Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Sharon Simmons, Cheryl Sue Marit, and Roy Dewey.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of the home; children, Stella McNett of Glenmora, LA, Goldie Lindsey of Russell, Angela Cook of Glenmora, LA, Nicole Rogers and Marcy Rice both of Kansas City, MO, and B.J. Dewey of Minneapolis; sister, Judy Simpson of Osage City; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 3 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis and the family encourages casual attire. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ottawa County Health Center.
