Allen K. Wilson's Obituary
Allen Kaul Wilson, 69, Minneapolis, died Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis, with his family at his side. Al was born December 15, 1948 in Clay Center to Gordon and Martha (Kaul) Wilson.
On April 24, 1969 he and Mary Bigler were united in marriage. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. After his discharge from the Army in 1974 he worked in Clay Center for a short time before accepting a job at ElDorado in Minneapolis. He and Mary moved to Minneapolis where they raised their two boys. In 1977 Al went to work for Tony's Pizza which is now Schwan's Food Service. He was an over the road truck driver for them for over 30 years. Al also worked for Chuck and Alice Kindall and family as a truck driver during the harvest months. The last few years, Al had several health issues and was often a patient at the Ottawa County Health Center where he was loved and cared for as if he was family. Al's family will forever be grateful to both the staff and the physicians at Comcare and OCHC.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary on March 10, 2004.
Survivors include his sons, Todd and wife Shelly of Minneapolis and Ryan and partner Dean of Shawnee; and grandsons, Landon and Reece Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 19 at the Bennington Bible Church. Burial with military honors will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends beginning at 5:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bohemian Hills Veterans Turkey Hunt and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.
